Health hacks for Indian households
• Generic Medicines
We all know generic medicines cost way less than their branded counterparts. Where to get them? From PM Jan Aushadi Kendra, it is available in every city. Also, you can ask your local pharmacist to give you a generic alternative to any medicine you want.
• Stretching
Stretching takes 5 minutes but gives benefits that are beyond a 5-minute exercise, like stress relief, improves blood circulation, improves flexibility, and is hella easy to do. Stretching also helps you pass the unholy gases that your body doesn’t want, just keep clear of the people around you.
•The toilet paper theory
This theory tells us that you might not see the results of your exercise immediately, but you have to believe in the process. Out of a new toilet paper roll when you take out a layer, it doesn’t make much difference to it, but when it’s down to the last few rolls you’ll see it getting shrunk faster. Same way, lean people get lean faster, and obese persons need to make some effort and believe in the process of exercising.
• Two phones
We are all addicted to phones, watching reels and scrolling the limitless feeds, this will reduce your attention span by close to a second. Our suggestion is to invest some money into a dumb phone apart from your current smartphone. And schedule time to watch social media.
•Keeping a water bottle close to everywhere you go
This is the simplest of the health hacks there is, when you are thirsty and there is no water but sugary drinks and juices are available in abundance you’ll try to quench the thirst by drinking unhealthy drinks. Instead, invest in a good quality bottle that you can carry everywhere. When we can carry purses and bags everywhere, why not bottles to make some healthy changes in our lifestyle?
Conjunctivitis Scare
Schools, hospitals, and tea stalls are all filled with people with Pink Eye, or as the more educated folks would like to call it “need a day off, because of conjunctivitis”.
It’s a fairly common disease that usually starts in the rainy season. Conjunctivitis, also known as “pink eye,” is an inflammation of the conjunctiva — the thin, transparent layer that covers the white part of your eyes and lines the inside of your eyelids. It is a common eye condition that can be caused by viruses, bacteria, allergies, or irritants.
When you have conjunctivitis, your eyes may become red, itchy, and swollen. You might experience a gritty or burning sensation, and there could be a discharge of pus or watery fluid from your eyes. Additionally, your eyes may be more sensitive to light than usual, so no anime for you.
The condition is highly contagious, so it’s crucial to avoid touching your eyes and to practice good hygiene by frequently washing your hands. Depending on the cause, conjunctivitis can usually be treated with eye drops or ointments prescribed by a doctor. Most cases of conjunctivitis clear up within a week or two with proper care and attention.
